Raptor 2100 FPS



    1. What does the Raptor 2100 FPS consist of?

    The Raptor 2100 FPS is a 2K × 2K graphics subsystem designed specifically for Air Traffic Control and Military environments. It consists of a 28” digital LCD, the Raptor 2500T-DL graphics card with MOX technology, digital video cables and device drivers for the Operating Environment of your choice.


    2. What hardware platforms are supported by the Raptor 2100 FPS?

    The Raptor 2100 FPS is currently supported on Sun Ultra Workstations and Enterprise Servers including the Ultra 5, 10, 80; Sunblade 100, 150, 1000 and 2000; E250 and E450 servers; Intel and AMD based PCs; Compaq (Alpha) DS10, DS20, XP1000 and 433au. Tech Source is continuously adding additional platforms and operating system support. if you have a specific requirement.


    3. What Operating Systems are supported by the Raptor 2100 FPS?

    The Raptor 2100 FPS is currently supported on Solaris (Sparc) 7, 8, and 9; RedHat Linux (x86) 6.2, 7.2, 7.3 and 8.0; SuSE Linux (x86) 7.2 and 7.3; Tru64 (Compaq/Alpha) 4.0f, 5.0a, and 5.1. Tech Source is continuously adding additional platforms and operating system support. if you have a specific requirement.


    4. Can the Raptor 2100 FPS be used as the console device in a Sun machine?

    Yes, the Raptor 2500T-DL card may be used as the system console in a Sun machine. Please refer to the description in the Raptor OpenWindows Installation and Reference Manual for further details.


    5. Will the Raptor 2500T-DL graphics card work when other graphics cards are installed in my machine?

    Yes, the Raptor 2500T-DL card takes up only one PCI slot in your system. All other available slots may be used for other PCI card including graphics cards and their operation will not be constrained in any way by the presence of the Raptor 2500T-DL card.


    6. Does the Raptor 2500T-DL graphics card offer backward compatibility to the previous generation of Raptor cards such as the Raptor 2000?

    Yes, the Raptor 2500T-DL graphics card will support all applications that ran on the Raptor 2000 including MOX enabled applications.


    7. What advantages does the Raptor 2100 FPS offer over my current graphics card and Sony DDM 2K monitor?

    The digital flat panel is designed to fit in existing ATC consoles, is 85% lighter and consumes 66% less power than current analog displays. In addition, it is 100% brighter than analog displays and has software-controllable brightness adjustments.

    The Raptor 2500T-DL graphics card has nearly twice the performance of previous generation cards and offers more colors and layering capabilities than any 2K graphics card on the market.
